Latest OFSTED Report
What is Ofsted?
Ofsted (the Office for Standards in Education, Children’s Services and Skills) is the independent body responsible for inspecting and regulating schools in England. Ofsted inspections help parents, carers and governors understand how well a school is performing and how effectively it supports pupils’ learning, development and wellbeing.
Changes to Ofsted reports
Previously, Ofsted inspections used an overall single judgement grade (such as Outstanding, Good, Requires Improvement or Inadequate). This system gave a brief summary judgement but could not always reflect the full picture of a school’s strengths and areas for development.
Under the newer approach, Ofsted no longer places the same emphasis on a single overall grade. Instead, reports provide a clearer, more detailed view of different areas of school life, often presented through a report card style summary. This approach aims to give parents and carers a more balanced and informative understanding of how the school is performing across key areas.
